Bummer. Not sure where you, live Kelly, but there was still a dwindling supply of Honeycrisps in NYC's Union Square greenmarket as of today (I was shocked!). If you come across a variety called Mutsu (aka Crispin), try those! They're on the larger side, a pale green/yellow (similar color to a Golden Delicious), and I find that they scratch a similar itch as the Honeycrisps do.

I discovered honey crisp this winter never was a hugh apple fan......untill Honey crisp. I went to the store about a week ago to get my daily 3 honey crisp and to my horror they were gone I ask the produce guy and he said they were out of season, I am so depressed, I can't wait till they come back. I guess I will just keep trying other apples until I find one that is close, have not had much luck yet, until the fall I love you honey crisp

Hi, Ashley,
I'm not quite sure what to make of that... my info is straight from the University of Minnesota, which created the Honeycrisp and owns the patent. They state that it is a cross between the Macoun and the Honeygold... and the Honeygold was also created by the U of M as a cross between the Haralson and the Golden Delicious. I'm always a little bit wary of Wikipedia as an authoritative source on things, as anyone can post anything there...
In any event, am glad you and your boyfriend share my passion for this apple's awesomeness!

Hey- I was doing some reading on the honey crisp and several sources including wikipedia sited that after extensive testing they've now found out that the Honeycrisp is not related to the Macoun or Honeygold. Keepsake was found to be one parent but the other is still unknown.
